Join us for an extended edition of "Melting World" this Saturday, from 10 PM to 3 AM on Sunday, focusing on the genre of Fusion music. Originating in the late '60s, Fusion blends jazz with electric bass, keyboards, and non-Western instruments.

We'll feature classic tracks from the '70s by Weather Report, Brand X, Jean-Luc Ponty, Billy Cobham, and Al Di Meola, alongside contemporary sounds from Jonas Hellborg & Shawn Lane, PAKT, and John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra. Tune in for an evening of complex rhythms and intricate melodies with Ed Roller this Saturday night at 10 PM.

 

Bob Duffy Welcomes 10cc’s Graham Gouldman on 7/27/24

Tune in on Saturday morning, July 27th, as WUSB’s Bob Duffy welcomes 10cc’s Graham Gouldman to the airwaves of 90.1 FM.

In addition to his work with 10cc, Graham was a founding member of the band Wax, and has written dozens of ‘60s hit songs, such as “Bus Stop”, “Heart Full of Soul”, “Look Through Any Window”, “Listen People” and many more hits. Graham was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014.

Listen on Saturday morning between 9 am and noon for this insightful interview with Graham Gouldman ahead of the 10cc show at the Patchogue Theatre.

Destinies speaks with cli-fi author Athena M. Kaiman

This week, Destinies welcomes back author Athena M. Kaiman, for a live phone interview.

Tune in Friday night at 11:15, as the cli-fi writer returns to discuss her latest novel DAR and Earth: Yasteron.

This book, the third in the series, continues the story of the magical being Aelish, and her genius human student, Isabela, who must both somehow rise from the ashes of their shattered lives after the breathtaking cliffhanger in Book 2. Their resolve to do so is a testament to their determination to stop the extinction event looming on the horizon for humans, caused by the climate crisis on Earth. You'll learn about Athena's research for this ongoing project.

He's 85 years old and still tours. He talks to me about his life in music, the inspiration for his songs and his longtime friendship with Bruce Springsteen. I will be playing the recorded interview on my next show, Monday, July 22.
