(Their frontman, Gord Downie, was recently diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.) Chris J. Connolly visited with us in the studio as he sets forth to record his second album and played some songs from it. And we remembered harmonica virtuoso, Toots Thielemans, who passed away on Monday at age 94. We also gave away some tickets to the Stony Brook Film Festival and to the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival to lucky listeners. Our music mix featured some songs related to motion pictures as well as a set of songs noting Donald Trump's upcoming nomination as the Republican candidate for President of the United States. New releases included albums by Zoe Lewis, Natalia Zukerman, a release of an alternate recording of John Gorka's first album and a multi-artist recording celebrating Joan Baez’ 75th Birthday. |
