Ellis Paul returns for WUSB's Sunday Street Series

On Sunday,February 23, 3:00 P.M.

Ellis returns for his 13th appearance in WUSB’s Sunday Street Series.

From his emergence on the Boston music scene in 1990, Ellis has won a devout following for his well-crafted songs and his passionate, high energy stage presentation and his distinctive voice. As Kristian Bush, of the duo Sugarland has said, "Ellis has a voice that is so powerful you know who it is the second he comes through your radio."

His latest release, 2019’s The Storyteller’s Suitcase, is his 20th album and has received extensive radio airplay and critical praise.

Ellis will be making full use of the Steinway concert piano he will have at his disposal. There are always surprises at an Ellis Paul show and you can expect a unique cover or two of songs from other writers.

Cellist Michael Fitzpatrick and director Dimitri de Clercq are Tom Needham's special guests this Thursday at 6 pm on WUSB.

Dimitri de Clercq is the award-winning director of YOU GO TO MY HEAD. First Run Features' psychological thriller will open in New York City at THE QUAD Cinema on Valentine's Day (February 14, 2020) and in Los Angeles at Laemmle's Glendale on February 21.

THE SOUNDS OF FILM will also feature an interview with Michael Fitzpatrick, the founder of EARTH'S CALL, the forthcoming global broadcast event using music as the medicine to bring humanity together to care for each other and for our common home, Earth.

The show is also going to featuring the music of composer Thomas Newman, who is nominated for an Academy Award this year for Best Original Score.
