Featuring incredible archival footage of the band's rocking past intercut with its next chapter releasing a new LP today, the film includes interviews with a large cadre of music icons, including Def Leppard's Joe Elliott, Bonnie Raitt, The Go-Go's Kathy Valentine, Todd Rundgren, The Runaways' Cherie Currie, Lovin' Spoonful's John Sebastian, The B52's Kate Pierson, Charles Neville and David Bowie guitarist and bassist Earl Slick and Gail Ann Dorsey. Radio Special on the Gyrodyne Project - Tuesday, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.By acradio on Tue, 04/12/2022 - 7:25amA Note from Emmanuel Goldstein of Off The Wall Kyle and I are filling in for Finn and we put together a special on the proposed Gyrodyne project, right next door to campus. Gyrodyne is adjacent to the Stony Brook Research and Development Park and they want to build a hotel, nursing home, and all kinds of other things on the land which is now mostly open space. It will be a traffic nightmare as well as a devastating blow to preservation of open space in the area. We'll have experts from a recent Town of Smithtown planning board hearing where a number of people from the neighborhood spoke out against this. For the second hour we'll have some live interviews with some of the people trying to stop this project. Among the opponents are the mayor of Head of the Harbor Douglas Dahlgard, New York State Representative Stave Englebright, and Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine. |
