Interviews With Bill Shelly and Cindy Campbel about The Tina Tuner Tribute at The Cinema Arts Centre June 28th at 7:30.TINA TURNER MEMORIAL CELEBRATION
Wednesday, June 28th at 7:30 PM

Join for an evening of rare and thrilling performance films in honor of the late Tina Turner (November 26 1939 - May 24, 2023), the musical legend who is often referred to as “The Queen of Rock and Roll.” Coming from a gospel background in rural Nutbush, Tennessee, she soon found herself as the lead singer of Ike Turner’s Kings of Rhythm. The group established themselves as a popular live act, and had a hit with the song, “Poor Fool.” With sudden fame came marriage to Ike Turner, along with a brutal and often violent relationship. The 1960s were a successful time for Ike and Tina, with appearances on popular television shows like Shindig and Soul Train, records produced by producer Phil Spector, and concert tours with The Rolling Stones.
