Captain Phil fillin' in for Jim Dexter now for 1 year! this week interview with Jeffrey Erik Mack

Jeffrey Erik Mack's musical endeavors began at an early age in a small village called Sloan, NY. He played the tuba and trombone for the Classical Ensemble and the bass guitar for the Jazz Band and Pit Band throughout his Middle School and High School years.
Jeff's love for the bass guitar grew by listening to artists such as Rush, Yes, Jethro Tull, Al Di Meola and Allan Holdsworth. Bassist's such as Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, Jeff Berlin and Anthony Jackson were big influences on his playing technique.
In 1987 he relocated to Southern California to study at the Musician's Institute of technology where he graduated with honors.
Since then, Jeff has played and recorded with musicians in the US as well as Europe. He landed a recording contract with Melodic Revolution Records in 2021 and released his Progressive Rock album, "The Forgotten Earth".
- "Jeff's album is a ride through adventurous chord progressions, riptide polyrhythms and dramatic orchestral textures. His compositions come across as classical form, but incorporating jazz/rock/fusion elements. A truly unique album." - Emmett Chapman. Inventor of the Chapman Stick
- "Jeff has developed his own voice as a composer in the genre, which is not an easy thing to do. His music is full of imagination and compelling journeys." - Mark Wingfield, Award winning mixing and mastering engineer. Heron Island Studio, UK

Jeffrey Erik Mack's "The Forgotten Earth" is expanding the existing boundaries found in most popular music today. The album is filled with Jeff's deep, lush compositions and arrangements. One listen and you will take note of the profound collection of extraordinarily rhythmic and ambitious songs. An array of thematic motifs from progressive rock, jazz, new age, classical music and a flare of fantasy.
Jeff Mack's virtuosity on the bass guitar and the NS/Stick are the focal point of the music. But, this is not an album of bass solos at dizzying speeds. It is a musical adventure in storytelling with the bass guitar as the medium and the orchestrated instruments adding the artistic imagery.
