Jeffrey Erik Mack
Jeffrey Erik Mack's musical endeavors began at an early age in a small village called Sloan, NY. He played the tuba and trombone for the Classical Ensemble and the bass guitar for the Jazz Band and Pit Band throughout his Middle School and High School years.
Jeff's love for the bass guitar grew by listening to artists such as Rush, Yes, Jethro Tull, Al Di Meola and Allan Holdsworth. Bassist's such as Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, Jeff Berlin and Anthony Jackson were big influences on his playing technique.
In 1987 he relocated to Southern California to study at the Musician's Institute of technology where he graduated with honors.
Since then, Jeff has played and recorded with musicians in the US as well as Europe. He landed a recording contract with Melodic Revolution Records in 2021 and released his Progressive Rock album, "The Forgotten Earth".
- "Jeff's album is a ride through adventurous chord progressions, riptide polyrhythms and dramatic orchestral textures. His compositions come across as classical form, but incorporating jazz/rock/fusion elements. A truly unique album." - Emmett Chapman. Inventor of the Chapman Stick
- "Jeff has developed his own voice as a composer in the genre, which is not an easy thing to do. His music is full of imagination and compelling journeys." - Mark Wingfield, Award winning mixing and mastering engineer. Heron Island Studio, UK

Jeffrey Erik Mack's "The Forgotten Earth" is expanding the existing boundaries found in most popular music today. The album is filled with Jeff's deep, lush compositions and arrangements. One listen and you will take note of the profound collection of extraordinarily rhythmic and ambitious songs. An array of thematic motifs from progressive rock, jazz, new age, classical music and a flare of fantasy.
Jeff Mack's virtuosity on the bass guitar and the NS/Stick are the focal point of the music. But, this is not an album of bass solos at dizzying speeds. It is a musical adventure in storytelling with the bass guitar as the medium and the orchestrated instruments adding the artistic imagery.
Mile Marker Zero (http://www.milemarkerzero.com/)
is Live & Confined
Mile Marker Zero is excited to announce the release of a Live
album! Aptly titled, "Live & Confined," the performance was
recorded in August of 2020 at the height of the pandemic
lockdowns. It captures MMZ’s livestreamed performance for the
ProgStock Presents Virtual Series, presented by the ProgStock
Festival on StageIt. The live album features songs from MMZ's
most recent release, "The Fifth Row," as well as material from
previous releases. “Live & Confined” also includes a previously
unreleased studio track from the Fifth Row sessions, “Think
Machine.”
Mile Marker Zero was formed in 2005 when brothers Dave Alley (vocals) and Doug Alley (drums), alongside childhood
friend Mark Focarile (keyboards) and original bassist Tim Rykoski met guitarist John Tuohy at Western Connecticut State
University. They released their debut EP, The Haunted, in 2006 and began to captivate audiences as they were seen
performing alongside the likes of Porcupine Tree, Underoath, Spock’s Beard and Devil Wears Prada.
Having created a buzz on the Northeastern prog circuit, the band returned to the studio to
record their self-titled, full-length debut, Mile Marker Zero, in 2009 and were the first-ever unsigned artist to be featured
in the popular Harmonix/MTV Games video game series, RockBand.
As time progressed, MMZ continued to make several notable live appearances, including shows alongside Periphery,
Scale the Summit, Nothing More, Adrenaline Mob, Fair to Midland, and more. In 2014, the band released the electrifying
Young Rust EP, which was lauded as “a must-listen for fans of commercial progressive music,” (Metal Insider) and saw
the band receive the award for “Best Band (Connecticut)” at the 2016 New England Music Awards.
In 2017, Bassist Jaco Lindito joined the band and produced The Fifth Row, a concept album released in March of 2018.
The narrative of the album is focused on the exponential growth of Artificial Intelligence, and its effects on humanity.
The lead-off single, “The Architect” was featured in the acclaimed “NASCAR Heat 4” videogame.
Following the release of The Fifth Row, MMZ appeared as the opener for Riverside at RoSfest 2019 in Sarasota,
Florida, and later performed at New Jersey Proghouse. As the 2020 COVID pandemic descended, the band pivoted
from additional live performances to virtual festivals, including the Uncancelled Music Festival, Prog from Home, and
Virtual ProgStock 2020. In between concerts, MMZ created the “Hour Zero” podcast, talking with notable guests
including Marco Minnemann, Randy McStine, Harry Waters and more.
As 2021 starts a new chapter in MMZ history, the band plans to release a live album that they recorded during the
quarantine entitled “Live & Confined,” which is scheduled to be released worldwide on April 2, 2021.
