OUR FEATURED INTERVIEW is with AMY PERKO. Amy has served as executive director of the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics since 2005 after contributing to the Commission’s work as the associate director for nearly two years. During this time, the Commission continued to push for many of its academic reform recommendations, which have been realized through policy changes made by the NCAA.
In October 2008, Perko helped lead the Commission as it began a year-long series of meetings and research efforts on the economics of college sports. This research was conducted so the Knight Commission could gather critical information to share with all leaders responsible for managing complex sports finances issues during particularly challenging economic times. http://www.knightcommission.org/
