Our show TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 6; 1-3PM EDT, on air and online will launch our examination of the issue of voter suppression by conservatives. We will look at many related issues like the gutting of the Voting Rights Act and district gerrymandering.

Joining us will be Allegra Chapman. Allegra is Common Cause’s Director of Voting and Elections. She leads national and state efforts to reduce barriers to voting and ensure that elections are run efficiently and fairly throughout the country. Her career has included such work as litigation and negotiations in several states to enforce Section 7 of the National Voter Registration Act, which requires public assistance agencies to provide voter registration services to their clients. She also helped defend the constitutionality of New York’s statute eliminating prison-based gerrymandering and other electoral reforms including Election Day voter registration.
