The Small Glories with Gene Casey opening

In WUSB's Sunday Street Series at The Long Island Museum
Saturday, July 6th, 7 P.M.

The Small Glories are the Canadian roots duo of Cara Luft, a founding member of The Wailin’ Jennys, and JD Edwards. According to Paste Magazine, “they may soon join duos like Mandolin Orange and Shovels & Rope among the ranks of Americana prestige.”

The Small Glories duplicate and reinforce each others’ many strength and yet allow their distinct personalities to shine through, resulting in a live show that is as heartwarming as it is hilarious and as finger-picking proficient as it is relatable.

Opening is Gene Casey

Gene Casey is a treasure of Long Island’s music scene. With his group, The Lone Sharks, Gene brought his blend of roots, rock and swing to the East End and to Long Island airwaves with several all-original albums, Guitar In The Rain being his most recent. Gene’s songs have also been heard on television and film soundtracks. Gene will play this show in a trio setting. (www.genecasey.com)

Advance sale tickets are $22 at www.sundaystreet.org through Friday, July 5th.

Tickets at the door are $27 (cash only).

John Potash, the director of DRUGS AS WEAPONS AGAINST US: THE CIA WAR ON MUSICIANS AND ACTIVISTS, is Tom Needham's exclusive guest this Thursday at 6 pm on WUSB's THE SOUNDS OF FILM.

DRUGS AS WEAPONS AGAINST US: THE CIA WAR ON MUSICIANS AND ACTIVISTS' writer and producer, John Potash, meticulously details how a group of opium-trafficking families came to form an American oligarchy. He makes the claim that this oligarchy helped the CIA fund operations such as Project MK-Ultra, which pushed LSD and other drugs on activist leaders and populations at home and abroad.
