WUSB Sunday Street Concerts Presents The End of America

Sunday, December 8th, 3 P.M.

We close out 2019 with The End of America, a young, exciting band of friends, singers and travelers who blend three-part harmony with rock and Americana. The Philadelphia-based outfit masters a style that resonates with fans of CSNY and Dawes. Taking their name from a phrase in On The Road, the landmark novel by Jack Kerouac,

This trio has garnered critical praise and a very active fan base. They have headlined both the Philadelphia Folk Festival and the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and return for their second appearance in our series.

All front men of previous bands, Brendon Thomas, James Downes and Trevor Leonard met on tour in 2005. They went on to form a trio that highlights their vocal chemistry and captures the raw honesty of their performances.

Anyone who has seen TEOA can attest to their powerful harmonies and stage presence. Plan to hear great original songs as well as carefully-chosen covers of songs showcasing these talents.

Advance sale tickets are $20 at www.sundaystreet.org through Friday, December 6th, with tickets at the door on the day of the show for $25 (cash only)

Souvenirs: The Songs of John Prine

Sunday, November 3rd, 5 P.M.

In WUSB’s Sunday Street Series at the Long Island Museum

For almost fifty years, from his 1971 self-titled debut album to 2018’s
The Tree of Forgiveness, John Prine’s songs have been an important part of the American musical landscape. This past June, John Prine was inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame adding to a long list of honors including several Grammy Awards.

The Sunday Street series continues its tradition of devoting an evening to the songs of noteworthy songwriters (Jack Hardy, Mose Allison, Warren Zevon and Randy Newman in past years) by presenting an evening of Prine’s songs performed by some of this area’s outstanding musicians.

Participating are: Emily Duff, Dan Hartmann, Cassandra House, Mary Lamont w/Jim Marchese, Pete Mancini, Dave March, Travis McKeveny, Miles To Dayton, Quarter Horse and Russ Seeger.

Special thanks to Pete Mancini and Dave March for coordinating this event.

This event will benefit WUSB-FM
