DJ Bio: DJ BlueskyBy Mike Dokus Matt Conticchio, better known as DJ Bluesky, is WUSB’s local weather expert. Currently, Matt is a senior about to graduate from Stony Brook with a degree in Atmospheric Science. Matt has been helping out around WUSB since his freshman year and got his show his junior year. He used to have a show every Saturday at 8-10 pm, but due to the current circumstances, this is a bit tentative. While he was doing his show, Matt would play classic rock hits and throw in weather-related news and forecasts. Some of his favorite artists are Queens of the Stone Age, Blue Öyster Cult, Dead Kennedys, Them Crooked Vultures, and Greta Van Fleet. Matt still frequently shares local weather updates with all of the WUSB staff to play on their shows for the weekly forecast and has been doing this for the past couple of months. When asked how he felt about being part of the WUSB team, this is what he had to say. “One of the things I enjoy most about being a DJ is having the freedom to run my show the way I want. I can play the music I enjoy and also talk about a wide range of topics, ranging from weather discussions to personal stories to miscellaneous nonsense. Even though my weather discussions are a bit long, drawn-out, and overly detailed, I enjoy having them be a staple of my show.” He shared, “being able to educate, inform, and at times even entertain listeners on what’s happening with the weather is another one of my favorite parts of being a WUSB DJ. Being a part of WUSB has given me the chance to share my musical tastes and interests while helping to develop my weatherman and public speaking skills.” Thanks again for all your help Matt! We wish you luck with future endeavors. |
