September 20th - International Coastal Cleanup
For anyone interested in volunteering to help with a community cleanup. The International Coastal Cleanup, sponsored by Keep Islip Clean, is this Saturday, September 20. I will be leading a cleanup at Brook Street and Milton Street, Islip, adjacent to the west branch of the Orowoc Creek, an upland fresh water marsh and stream that feeds the Great South Bay. The cleanup will be between 0900 and 1100 am. Participants must be 18 years or older because this is an active roadway. Wear old clothes, comfortable shoes or sneakers and no flip-flops or open sandles. Cleanup supplies will be provided. We will be cataloging what we pick up and reporting the results to the American Littoral Society.
