From one of my favorite listeners:

Hey Habanero, I hope you have recovered from Sandy and that the good ship Habanero is doing fine. I know you were planning a show devoted to Sandy but maybe not. But as you I am a lover of all the finned creatures I just heard about the devastation at the NY Aquarium in Coney Island. They are was major damage to the aquarium due to the storm surge. Most of the animals survived thanks to the very dedicated staff. But they are in need of contributions to help with the repairs. Here is the website for anyone that would like to contribute https://secure3.convio.net/wcs/site/Donation2?5360.donation=form1&df_id=... I was hoping you might mention it tomorrow and put the website link on your playlist.
I thank you and the fish thank you.
Your shark loving friend John

Funk Filharmonik Performs as they Celebrate their 27th FUNKSGIVING
Anniversary at Deco 1600 in Plainview on Friday November 23rd

What do Billy Joel, John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and The Blues Brothers have in common? The answer: members of Long Island's own Funk Filharmonik have performed with them all at some point over the past 26 years, either in the studio or on stage at events ranging from international outdoor festivals to world class concert halls and stadiums - even to the White House Lawn!

So, on Friday November 23rd at 8pm, join "The Funk" (as they are affectionately known) as they present their 27th Anniversary Funksgiving show, which is taking place at Deco 1600 - located at 1600 Round Swamp Road in Plainview, NY 11803 (516) 586-6454.
