SONGS FOR WINTERTIDE

 

The Winter Solstice and the holiday season are celebrated in “Songs for Wintertide,” a special webcast on

Long Island Museum’s Facebook page 

on Sunday, December 20th at 7 P.M. This is a collaboration between WUSB's Sunday Street Series and The Long Island Museum.

WUSB’s Charlie Backfish has produced this streaming event featuring many musicians who have played the radio station’s Sunday Street Series in The Long Island Museum’s Gillespie Room along with others who will play the series when live performances return.

Long Island based musicians Gathering Time, Gene Casey, Caroline Doctorow and Bob Westcott join nationally-touring musicians Tom Russell, The Kennedys, Ellis Paul, Sloan Wainwright, Rod MacDonald, Joe Jencks, Jesse Terry and Brooks Williams. The webcast takes on an international flavor with contributions from Canada’s Lynn Miles, and England’s Jez Lowe and Alan Fish.

The webcast begins with Sloan Wainwright who played the Sunday Street Series’ last live show on March 8th, before the lockdown due to COVID-19.
