Melting World 11/19/23 World of Dub

From Ed Roller:

As part of Radiothon’s Caribbean marathon, we present a journey through Dub Reggae, a bass heavy effects laden electronic sub genre of Jamaican roots music mixed in the studios by reggae musicians, producers and engineers.

Originally created as b-sides for singles, DJs started to include them in their mixes with great success while playing clubs.

We'll be tracing the roots of dub music back to its originators: King Tubby, The Prophets, The Aggravators, Lee “Scratch” Perry & The Upsetters. Our journey will also highlight contemporary dub master Ryan Moore of Twilight Circus Dub Sound System and his collaborations with artists like Michael Rose, Ranking Joe, Big Youth, and others

We will also check out the Cosmic Hour Dub Techno and Ambient Dub from Porter Ricks, Varient and Martin Stürtzer.

It will be a special mind altering edition of the Melting World you can groove to bringing the good vibes this Saturday at midnight (Sunday 12:00am).

Please consider a donation during Radiothon, our biannual fundraising effort to keep WUSB operational and independent. wusb.fm/pledge
