Ad Astra (http://www.adastraband.com)

AD ASTRA is an Instrumental Progressive Rock/Fusion band that has been active in the NYC/LI music scene for over 10 years. New York based guitarist Joe Nardulli's self-titled debut CD inspired and intrigued a bunch of local progressive rock musos. After jamming with a few, Joe finally found the right people and put a band together. David Penna on drums, J. Levine on bass and Eric Davis on keys brought Joe's solo material to life. Now as a band, AD ASTRA (Latin for "To the stars" - inspired by the title of the closing track of Joe's self-titled debut CD) has taken the compositional process to another level and have completed a full band recording! With a clear focus on melody and arrangement, over a bed of complex rhythm and harmony, their songs always keep your interest and never sound monotonous. They've released two CDs of material and are writing for a third. Highlights include multiple performances at the New Jersey ProgHouse, a show with world-renowned bassist Stu Hamm, a blistering 90-minute set at the 2016 ProgDay International Progressive Rock Festival, a performance at the 2018 Progtoberfest Prog Festival and a show at the historic My Father’s Place on Long Island. Summer 2019 has them joining French Prog/Fusion phenoms Mörglbl on their tour of the NorthEastern US, while writing new material to showcase live before hitting the studio for their highly anticipated third release. With Harold Skeete and Tony Savasta now filling the rhythm section duties things have been looking up and they're excited to do more and expand their reach.
