This week, Dialogos Radio and the Dialogos Interview Series will be wrapping up the 2014-15 broadcast season with an interview with world-renowned author, journalist, and analyst Tariq Ali. A member of the editorial committee of the New Left Review and a contributor to such publications as The Guardian and Counterpunch, and is the author of numerous books, including "The Extreme Centre: A Warning," "The Obama Syndrome," and "A Banker for All Seasons." He joins us on the Dialogos Interview Series this week to share his thoughts and insights as to the political and economic situation in Greece, on Greece's new SYRIZA-led coalition government and its broken campaign promises, and on the role of the European Union and the International Monetary Fund in furthering the economic crisis in Greece.

Tune into a special edition of Tom Needham's The Sounds of Film at 3:45PM on WUSB to hear an extended-interview with comedy legend, Jim Breuer, who will be talking about his new Epix special, Jim Breuer:Comedy Frenzy, which was recently shot on Long Island at the Paramount Theater. Jim Breuer was recently named one of Comedy Central's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time. Jim will be talking about growing up on Long Island, being a cast member on Saturday Night Live, acting in the film Half Baked, being a regular guest on the Howard Stern Show, and performing his popular stand-up routines about his family and heavy metal music.

The conference will celebrate the remarkable achievements of women in Stony Brook and the wider community as well as a chance to take a look at some of the barriers that are preventing women from achieving their full potential.
